GRAVENHURST — An evening with Brett Sontag Thursday is a whirlwind of musical influences covering 17 countries since he performed last summer at Trinity United Church in their Wednesday concert series.
This week they dim the lights for another candle light concert as the Gravenhurst native welcomes family and friends for another night of enchanting piano playing.
Since his last command performance, Sontag says “I have travelled to 17 countries and shot violin music videos in each one. I have been learning violin, viola and cello, while continuing to compose on piano.”
So don’t expect any covers or tributes.
“I am doing all originals and am celebrating 15 years of composing music.”

Meanwhile, “I have started a music production club out of Upper Canada College and am working with some students in the Toronto Junior Symphony.”
He adds “I am back at Upper Canada College as a full-time supply teacher and part-time physical education teacher.
Sontag is back Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. for a return engagement and looking forward to another roomful of very appreciative listeners.
