THREE MORE IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES KEEP POLICE BUSY IN SOUTH OF MUSKOKA
MUSKOKA — Police have made a couple more charges after an accident in Bracebridge and traffic infraction in Gravenhurst.
They charged a man with impaired operation early Sunday this week.
On July 20, at 2 a.m., an officer conducting patrols on Muskoka Road South near Phillip Street in Gravenhurst observed a traffic infraction.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and soon after arrested and charged 24-year-old Ryan Fallis, of Gravenhurst, with Impaired Operation and Operation- Over 80 along with Highway Traffic Act offences.
And on July 14, at 4:20 p.m., police and Muskoka EMS responded to reports of a singe-vehicle collision on Carlsmount Road in Bracebridge.
A member of the public came upon the collision after the vehicle had left the roadway and collided with a tree, the occupants then fled the scene.
Officers were able to locate the occupants and arrested and charged 40-year-old Shekhar Phogat, of Brampton, with Impaired Operation and Failure/Refusal to Comply with Demand (breath).
Phogat is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 19, 2025.
Also that day, July 14, officers responded to concerns from members of the public about a motorcycle operator who had fallen off of his motorcycle in Torrance, in Muskoka Lakes Township.
Officers attended and with the assistance of the public, located the motorcycle operator nearby.
The charged 47-year-old Jeffery Marion, of Muskoka Lakes Twp., with Impaired Operation and Over 80, along with several Highway Traffic Act Offences. Marion is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 2, 2025.
