GRAVENHURST — Another attempted break-in at the corner of Muskoka Road and James Street last night has resulted in the arrest of a Gravenhurst man suspected of break-ins and thefts at another business at the intersection in recent months.
Police charged Connor McQuain, 34, with Break and Enter, Mischief and Fail to Comply with Probation X 3 after the front door at One Pizza was smashed on July 27, at 10:40 p.m.
That’s when officers responded.
They say the accused was unsuccessful in gaining entry.
Police gathered evidence and spoke with witnesses and early today they arrested and charged McQuain.
He was held in custody to appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge this morning.
He was recently released on bail after being charged in early April with three break and enters at the same intersection, including three at the neighbouring Oliver’s Coffee Shop.

The Canadian Tire Gas Bar at on the southwest side of the corner has also been broken into recently.
Pizza One employee Mubashir Mahmoode was still cleaning up “all the scattered pieces” of door glass and “putting them in the garbage” late this afternoon.
And getting help fixing a broken door handle.
It’s the second time the popular business has been broken into in a short time.
“Yes, in the winter when there was a snow storm and the power was out.
“We don’t keep any cash. What’s the point of breaking in because there’s no cash.
“All they could get is this hot oven.”
