HUNTSVILLE Tuesday’s terrifying police pursuit along Highway 11 has led to six GTA residents being charged in connection with a home invasion in the Hillside area, east of Huntsville.

A day later all the accused were in custody for a bail hearing Wednesday before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 2, 2025.

Police are also searching for other armed suspects at still at large and are seeking the public’s help in apprehending the unknown number of them.

July 1, shortly before 5 a.m., officers responded to reports of an armed home invasion at a private residence in the Hillside area. As the situation developed, the investigation extended beyond the original location, prompting the closure of Highway 11 in both directions between Severn River Road and Coopers Falls Road, and between Canning Road and Graham Road. The highway opened later in the morning and a hold-and-secure order for drivers to remain in their vehicles on the highway along with nearby residents in Severn Bridge at the Severn River after a car crash was issued and was also lifted at the same time.

Following the preliminary investigation, six people were arrested.

Investigators believe additional suspects, who may be armed and dangerous, remain at large, along with a stolen silver Honda CRV with Ontario plate CZFE 895. If seen, call 911 and do not approach. The OPP urges the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to police.

The six suspects were arrested and in court the following day. Armed police and one of their dogs were seen searching in one social media post. PHOTO social media
