POLICE LOOKING FOR VIDEO FROM ACCIDENT INVOLVING SWIMMER, BOATER ON SKELETON LAKE JULY 19

MUSKOKA LAKES TOWNSHIP Police continue to investigate a boating accident 10 days ago in which a swimmer was injured on Skeleton Lake.

The OPP are seeking witnesses to the incident Saturday, July 19, just before 5 p.m.

Emergency services responded near Skeleton Lake Road 5.

A 22-year-old Georgina man was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. And one person from the boat has been charged.

Police located the operator of the vessel, arresting Richard Moore and also charging him with Failure to Comply with a Release Order.

Moore was held in custody for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Investigators are seeking witnesses or anyone with information, including surveillance or any video footage that could assist the investigation.

The OPP’s Crime Unit from the south Muskoka detachment is leading the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
