GRAVENHURST — If you are a musician or performer here, there are two venues you want to play if you’ve made the big time.

Inside the Opera House and outside the Barge.

Students in Dan Farmer’s music program checked off the Gull Lake Rotary Park performance centre Monday evening with an entertaining hour or more of big band music and small group performances on a gorgeous evening with a backdrop of speed boats and before a decent-sized crowd of family, music lovers and supporters.

They were joined by Bryant Stora’s GPS elementary school band.

The players were are quite good, many of them recognizable from the recent L&M recital.

Even as sheets of music floated in the air, some landing in the lake.

It was a great way to graduate for some and an opportunity on the big stage to rap, work their chops and strut their stuff.

From brass to drums, guitars to singers, it was a wonderful showcase for upcoming teen talents you’ll no doubt be hearing more from in the coming years.
