GRAVENHURST — Another LCBO theft here cost the provincial supplier at least $5,000 in bottles of booze.
The walk-away Wednesday involved a huge amount of expensive scotch.
At least an estimated $5,000 and maybe up to $6,000 worth.
This week’s take out is the most recent incident at the Muskoka store within three weeks.
It was the third time following a pair of thefts both on April 24 in Gravenhurst.
On that day one person was charged.
A photo released by police in that case showed three people exiting the Edward Street store.
This time the theft late in the day involved three people.
Some scotches are well over $100 per bottle.
Store employees aren’t allowed to confront or chase anyone suspected of stealing, according to the LCBO.
Police were called and are investigating after receiving store video of the theft.
Cameras capture customer images each time they enter the outlet.
LCBO thefts are becoming more frequent and appear as if a racket like car thefts.
