FORE! PICKUP LANDS ON TENNIS COURT AT WINDERMERE GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB SATURDAY

WINDERMERE — Talk about hitting the links early, a driver left the road at the Windermere Golf & Country Club Saturday and their pickup truck landed on their tennis courts.

Police are investigating the collision at the golf course in Muskoka Lakes Township that caused significant damage to the 106-year-old popular private Muskoka golf course across the street from Windermere House. It was co-founded in 1919 by one of the Eaton family members.

On May 17, at 8:15 a.m., officers responded to reports on Golf Avenue Road

The large black truck crashed through a fence coming to rest on a tennis court causing significant damage to the property and vehicle.

By time police arrived, the driver had fled and has not yet been located, as of Sunday night.

The only damage was to the tennis court and did not affect the golf course.

The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone who has information to call Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122. You may also report information to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.crimestopperssdm.com if you wish to remain anonymous.
