TWO PEOPLE CHARGED WITH OUTSTANDING WARRANTS IN SEPARATE ARRESTS IN HUNTSVILLE YESTERDAY

HUNTSVILLE — Two people were in Bracebridge bail court this morning on outstanding warrants after police stopped them here in a pair of arrests on unrelated charges yesterday.

On March 31, at 4:20 p.m., police were on patrol when they observed a female they knew to have outstanding warrants.

The investigation revealed the accused to be in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine and various items that indicate possible drug trafficking offences.

Cheryl Upton, 35, of Burks Falls is charged with: Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking; and Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Upton was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on April 1, 2025.

Later last night, at 10:20 p.m. officers were called to a business on King William Street at the report of two suspicious persons on the property.

When they arrived they found a man and woman on the property, both  with outstanding warrants of arrest. And they were subsequently taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed the man was in possession of suspected cocaine and various prohibited weapons.

The woman was arrested and released with a new court date. No additional charges were required.

As a result, Scott Purves, 43, of Huntsville charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition x 2
  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

Purves was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on April 1, 2025.

Police picked up two Muskoka people on outstanding warrants in Huntsville Monday.
