THIVES TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ICE STORM TO BREAK IN TO 3 BUSINESSES IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST — While the community was iced up and hunkering in shelter, thieves took advantage of the weekend ice storm to break three downtown Gravenhurst businesses.

Police are investigating after responding to two reports at restaurants between late on Saturday and early Monday morning at the Pizza One, Oliver’s Coffee and the CTC gas bar across the main street.

The food establishments share a parking lot at the intersection of Muskoka Road South and James Street, one is situated at the north end of the lot and one at the south end.

Unknown suspect(s) took advantage of the widespread power outage, smashed glass doors in order to gain entry, and made off with a quantity of cash.

Police are looking for information and any video that may assist their investigation after three businesses were broken into on the weekend during the ice storm.
