PARRY SOUND-MUSKOKA — The polls are open for MP and PM.
And Canadians lined up at polling stations before 9:30 a.m. voting began.
A sunny day and sunny ushered in the future of Canada as poll clerks checked to make sure voters had their ID and voter card with poll number.
Until 9:30 p.m. (all local times) coast to coast those eligible to vote can cast their ballots and be counted before the day is done.
A list of candidates and their affiliations was available inside the voting booth and also on the actual ballot itself.
The alphabetical choices were:
- Scott Aitchison, Conservative;
- Heather Hay, NDP;
- Isabel Pereira, People’s Party and
- Geordie Sabbagh

Tonight one of them will be Parry Sound-Muskoka’s next Member of Parliament.
And the party leader with the most votes will be either Liberal Mark Carney or Conservative Pierre Poilievre.
Justin Trudeau was the previous PM between 2015 and 2025.
Many consider this to be one of the most important elections in the country in years.
Aitchison won locally in 2021 .
But the Liberals are hopeful as always about regaining the riding’s seat previously held by Andy Mitchell between 1993-206.
Results should be known by just after 10 p.m.
