WOMAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION AFTER DRIVER ACCUSED OF DRIVING ‘ERATICALLY’ IN SCHOOL ZONE

HUNTSVILLE A woman accused of driving “erratically” in school zone has been charged with impaired operation yesterday at the start of the school day.

Police say that on March 24, at 9:09 a.m., officers conducting school zone patrols on Muskoka Rd 3 North say they observed a vehicle driving “erratically.”

After a traffic stop an interview quickly evolved into a drug investigation and a passenger was also arrested.

During the investigation with the driver, police say it became apparent she was under the influence and was arrested for impaired driving.

The driver advised she had only consumed her prescription medication recently, but was still taken to a Drug Recognition Officer for further drug testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jennifer Barager, 41, of Huntsville, was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Barager is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29, 2025.

The vehicle was also impounded for seven days and she received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension.

Also arrested was Sara Dexter, 29, of Huntsville, who was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • CC 91(2) Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

Dexter is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29, 2025.

Police remind drivers that prescription medication is a drug and can impair your ability to drive.
