TORRANCE FIRE EARLY MONDAY CONSIDERED ‘SUSPICIOUS,’ SAY POLICE

TORRANCE — A “suspicious” fire yesterday has police investigating.
They say the Muskoka Crime Unit and officers from the OPP’s south Muskoka detachment are probing the cause of the blaze reported at 8:45 a.m. March 24.
With the Muskoka Lakes Fire Department and Muskoka EMS, they responded to an emergency call from a resident Elizabeth Street in Torrance.
A resident called to say their neighbour’s residence was on fire and had quickly become fully engulfed in flames.
The caller attempted to find out if there was anyone inside and emergency responders were soon able to confirm that there were no people or pets inside the home at the time
Police are considering this fire to be suspicious, and the Muskoka Crime Unit is continuing the investigation.
