TEEN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AT MCDONDALD’S TUESDAY MORNING IN HUNTSVILLE

HUNTSVILLE — A fast food assault Tuesday has led to charges against a 16-year-old youth.

This morning, police say that on February 24, at 11:40 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault at McDonalds restaurant on King William Street.

The investigation recently concluded and revealed the accused, a male youth, had attacked another youth without provocation with a group of other youth watching and supporting the accused.

The victim sustained injuries but did not require medical care.

As a result of the investigation, the Huntsville teen was arrested and charged with one count of Assault and released to the care a parent to follow conditions not to communicate with the victim in any way.

The accused is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on May 1, 2025.

The name of the accused is not released as per the restrictions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and to respect the privacy of the victim.

Police say acts of violence and bullying are unacceptable and urge people not to support bullies.  If you or someone you know is victims of bullying or violence, there are supports available, including police.
