SCROOGE AND CHRISTMAS GHOST WALK SNOWY STREETS OF GRAVENHURST STARTING WEDNESDAY

GRAVENHURST — Autumn Smith puts on good theatre.
Her outdoor summer shows this summer and last at the Muskoka Wharf are testament to that. They’re fun, entertaining and easily accessible.
Next week’s walkabout production of ‘A Gravenhurst Christmas Carol’ will be more of the same.
“The immersive theatrical events of the holiday season.”
Join her entourage as they present Ebennezer Scrooge as he “traverses the town on his quest to find community, charity and the true meaning of Christmas.”
All outdoor shows are limited to audience capacity of 50 for the Dec. 11-14 and 18-21 shows.
The indoor version runs Dec. 15 and 22 at Trinity United Church.
It’s Scrooge’s and Smith’s second go-round after TimberBeast Productions put on the same street show last year.
The adaptation offers the audience the opportunity to physically follow Lumber Mill owner Ebenezer Scrooge as he walks through turn of the 20th century Gravenhurst grappling with his personal ghosts to find a future kindness and generosity.
The production fuses professional artists, local storytellers and collective history to make a night of magic the whole family can enjoy.
This year’s production will start in front of the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce (by Norman Bethune Statue) and make its way through town finishing at Sawdust Brewery.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sawdust as a new collaborative partner this year and will toast them (wink wink) appropriately when we alight there at the end of the play each evening,” says a release.
It stars Kenneth Northfield as Ebenezer Scrooge, Mark Hiscox as The Ghost of Christmas Present, Carina Salajan as Mrs. Cratchitt and Zack Radford as Bob Cratchitt.
Local actors include GHS drama teacher Earl Sacrey as ‘Jacob Marley,’ Lauren Rodrigues as ‘Judith,’ James Currie ‘Mr. Fezziwig,’ Paula McIssac ‘Mrs. Fezziwig,’ Kristen Rybacki ‘Scrooge’s Mother, Fritz Ruttan ‘Minnie,’ Jeremy Rand ‘John,’ Greyson McPherson ‘Tiny Tim,’ Lisa Evans ‘Martha Cratchitt,’ and Emjay Warne ‘Billy.’
“As we enter our third season, we are thrilled to return to the streets of Gravenhurst with this reimagined ‘Muskoka-ized’ version of the Dicken’s classic,” says Smith, the company’s owner, artistic and executive director.
This year’s production will start in front of the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce (by Norman Bethune Statue) and wends its way four blocks north concluding inside Sawdust Brewery.
This production is supported by The Town of Gravenhurst Tourism Fund, Morley and Associates, Trinity United Church, St. James Anglican Church and Sawdust City Brewery.
