GREAT TIME TO CATCH UP ON SOUNDS OF SEASON WITH THESE 4 HOLIDAY CONCERTS

MUSKOKA — While the weather played havoc with the start of the local festive concert season, the sounds of the season look promising this week.
THURSDAY NIGHT: HUNTSVILLE ACTIVE LIVING
But looking for something fun to do tomorrow night in Huntsville?
Why not join the Huntsville Community Band at the Active Living Centre from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
They are hosting a benefit concert with admission by donation and all proceeds collected will be split between The Table Kitchen Food Bank and the Burk’s Falls Food Bank.
It will be a fun show with favourites like “All I Want For Christmas is you, Jingle Bell Rock.”
“We have a little carol singing planned as well,” says conductor Sarah Lovering-Stallard.
SATURDAY AFTERNOON: MCB BRACEBRIDGE LIBRARY
And Saturday the Muskoka Concert Band is at the new Bracebridge Library for an afternoon performance at 2 p.m.
SATURDAY NIGHT: MEN OF SONG BRACEBRIDGE RENE CAISSE
Saturday night the Men of Song put on their annual show at the Rene Caisse Theatre at 7 p.m.
It features Sean Kelly Bursary winner Alexandra Teske, as well as the Monsignor O’Leary Catholic School Choir.
MONDAY EVENING: MCB BURK’S FALLS PUBLIC SCHOOL
The MCB will also be performing next Monday evening at the Land of Lakes Public School in Burk’s Falls.
Earlier this week the Gravenhurst Bifocals, who do an annual tour of four nursing and retirement homes had one of their first concerts cancelled at Muskoka Shores in Gravenhurst due to parking.
Snow clearing meant they had to shuttle in their own staff and had no room for visiting parking.
Luckily the band did play The Pines in Bracebridge.
And unfortunately the Bifocals were snowed out last Saturday at the Bracebridge library.
The same weekend the Elderberries had to postpone their weekend Christmas concerts at the Anglican and Trinity United Churches in Gravenhurst and the Trek to Bala was cancelled. All due to unusually heavy days of snowfall.
