THIEF STEALS PLANTS FROM DAISY AWARD-WINNING MAIN STREET GARDEN — TWICE THIS WEEKEND

Lois Cooper | MuskokaTODAY.com OPINION

Sunday night someone brought their digging tools to may garden and stole the plants of their desire.

I would like to thank the person who drove the thief (thieves) away.

Whoever did it was so startled they dropped their garden fork and some of the plants that they had dug up.

Lois Cooper was saddened to wake up today and find plants from her coveted Muskoka Road front garden in Gravenhurst stolen, scattered on her lawn and a fork lying on the ground after fleeing. She made sure to mark the locations of theft to make sure they knew she knew a “thief” had been by in the night.

Also Saturday night someone stole the only surviving seed of a specialty plant that I was watching over.

I am very disappointed. I have been very generous in the past with gifting plants,” said the past town Daisy Award winner.

This year I did a charity sale and sold plants — mostly for $1 or $2 — and raised funds for the Langford Cemetery, which is run by the community.

I plan to continue to sell plants to raise funds for the cemetery or school funds.

If only they had asked, I would have given them some.

The thief (thieves) dug in and made off with cactus plants at the home of the south Muskoka hospital supporter.
A shake down. Saturday night coveted seeds Cooper had been “watching over” were shaken from the big blooms in her front garden.
Everywhere she looked, Cooper found evidence of the thief at work in four parts of her garden including off Main Street.
Cooper wrote she would gladly have shared her love flowers: “If you only ASKED!!”
