GRAVENHURST BEACHES UNDER WATCH FOR GLASS, SHARP OBJECTS

GRAVENHURST — Reports about glass and sharp objects creating hazards at town beaches this summer have prompted precautionary measures.

Muskoka Bay Park and Muskoka Beach Park were closed temporarily for maintenance while hazards were removed.

Both have since reopened.

However, the Lorne Street Beach is temporarily closed for maintenance while staff work diligently to address reports of glass.

Town officials have contacted the OPP and ask the public to report any suspicious or malicious activity on public beach property to the police.

They also remind beach users to use the garbage cans at those areas to help keep our public spaces safe for everyone.
