GRAVENHURST — If you missed the boat the other night, you missed one of the best concerts on Lake Muskoka.
Peter Swanek wrapped up his final Peter’s Players cruise of the summer on the Wenonah II with a two-for-one rock’n’roll ride up to Beaumaris and back with a great cover band.
It was Tuesday “Night Fever.” The crowd was “Stayin’ Alive” with “More Than A Woman” standin’ up wildly swinging their arms and singing along to the sounds of the ‘Bee Gees.’
What a warm-up they were for the main act ‘Rod Stewart’ and “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’
To the 200 onboard the sold-out dinner cruise, this British lead singer made every “Maggie May” fan feel “Forever Young” as the ship hands sang along … “Tonight’s The Night.”
Swanek, who’s been presenting live music in Gravenhurst since 2006, is sad to see the sun set on this year’s concerts.
But he’s got more ‘Great Shows Always’ this fall at the Opera House, here, and looks to repeat more “club” concerts at the Gravenhurst Legion.
For Peter’s Players fans every seat is a front row seat.
