TWO DITCHED VEHICLES LEAD TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES IN MATTHIASVILLE AND MUSKOKA LAKES
BRACEBRIDGE — A Sunday morning collision has led to impaired driving charges after police responded to a ditched vehicle in Matthiasville, east of town here.
At 8:40 a.m. police responded to Matthiasville Road, where officers commenced an investigation into the cause of the collision and subsequently arrested and charged 28-year-old Stephen Good, of Bracebridge, with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).
Good is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Aug. 27, 2024, to answer charges.
Drivers who are charged with impaired driving offences also suffer an immediate 90 day driver’s license suspension and have their vehicle impounded.
UNLICENSED DRIVER CHARGED AFTER 1 P.M. COLLISION FRIDAY
MUSKOKA LAKES TWP. — On Friday, July 20, police charged an unlicensed Aurora driver with impaired driving offences after attending a motor vehicle collision in Muskoka Lakes Township just before 1 p.m.
Officers responded to reports that the vehicle had left the roadway and collided into a ditch on Russ Hammell Road.
They arrested and charged 30-year-old Cole Crouter with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a)
- Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b)
- Dangerous Operation CC 320.13(1)
- Obstruct Peace Officer CC 129(a)
- Fail to Remain at Collision under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) 200(1)(a)
- Drive with No Licence HTA 32(1)
Crouter is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on August 20, 2024 to answer to his charges.
