THREE BREAK-INS EARLY TODAY LEAVE THEIVES CASHLESS IN WEST MUSKOKA

MUSKOKA — Thieves came away virtually empty-handed after three of break and enters early this morning in west Muskoka.

Police are investigating the pair of attempted thefts.

They say that on Friday, July 19, at 2:45 a.m. officers responded to a break-in in progress at a business location on Muskoka Road 118 near Peninsula Road in Port Carling.

The suspect smashed a window to gain entry and fled on foot shortly after, having stolen two cash boxes that did not have cash stored inside.

A short time later, at 3:40 a.m., police were dispatched to similar break and enters at two side-by-side business locations on Kanien’kehá:ka Iohatátie Road (formerly Muskoka Road 38) in Wahta First Nation.

The suspect smashed the glass on each front door with a carved wooden sculpture to gain entry, and after a short time fled on foot, empty-handed after accessing empty cash drawers.

Police release two images of the suspect in the second pair of incidents, who was wearing jeans, a hooded black jacket, dark gloves and a face mask.
