VEHICLE GOES OFF BARLOCHAN ROAD, DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION

MUSKOKA LAKES TWP. — A Gravenhurst man has been charged with impaired driving after police responded to a collision in Muskoka Lakes Township Wednesday morning.

On May 22, at 8:45 a.m., police were called to single-vehicle accident on Barlochan Road in Muskoka Lakes Township after a driver left the roadway.

Officers arrived and began an investigation into the cause of the collision and arrested 53-year-old Trevor McIvor.

He has been charged with Operation while Impaired CC 320.14(1)(d), Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b), Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine CDSA 4(1) and Driving a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor LLCA 42(1)(a).

McIvor is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 18, 2024.

The consequences of impaired driving, beyond the criminal charge, includes a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound.

Wednesday morning police were called to a report of vehicle collision off of Barlochan Road in Muskoka Lakes Township. A Gravenhurst man was charged with impaired driving.
