CHARGES LAID SUNDAY AFTER OFF-DUTY OFFICER SPOTS SUSPECTED SHOPLIFTING

HUNTSVILLE Two people have been charged after an off-duty police officer observed a male believed to be shoplifting here at the Home Depot Sunday.

OPP say they arrested they were dispatched to a retail store on Ott Drive May 26 at 2 p.m.

Following an investigation the Huntsville residents were apprehended.

And the stolen items were retrieved and returned to the store.

The pair charged were:

Raymond Petrany, 39:

  • Theft Under $5,000- Shoplifting
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

Kerri Dyson, 43:

  • Theft Under $5,000- Shoplifting
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

Petrany and Dyson are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge at a future date to answer to their charges.
