PERSON TAKEN TO HOSPITAL VALENTINE’S DAY, AFTER MORNING KITCHEN FIRE IN HUNTSVILLE

HUNTSVILLE The Fire Marshal’s office has been called in to investigate a late morning fire here on Valentine’s Day in which a one person was taken to hospital.

At 11:40 a.m. February 14, the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Fire Fighters responded to a structure fire on North Waseosa Lake Road in Huntsville.

Crews from Station 1 Huntsville and Station 3 Hillside, including 20 firefighters and five trucks, responded.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a working fire in the kitchen.

Fire crews contained the blaze to the kitchen avoiding it spreading to other parts of the home.

There was no danger to neighbouring properties.

One person was transported to the hospital.

The Office of the Fire Marshal has been contacted and will be conducting an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire, says an HLBFD release.

The fire department reminds residents to stay alert when cooking and not wear loose clothing or place flammable materials near the heat source. And don’t leave the kitchen when frying, broiling or grilling food.

Twenty firefighters and five trucks responded to the Feb. 14 blaze on Lake Waseosa.
