TIME TO BID AND HELP COMMUNITY. ROTARY ONLINE (ONLY) AUCTION LIVE THURSDAY

GRAVENHURST — Let the bidding begin — to help your Rotary Club help our community.

With an exceeding 200 items ringing up a retail value of more than $30,000, every bid you make will go to assist someone or a charity organization you probably know in town.

This of course thanks in large part, also, to the generous merchants and donors who have again lined up to give you great deals for today and until the electronic gavel goes down at 8 p.m. Nov. 25.

The direct auction address line is: www.gravenhurstrotaryauction.com

For 30 some years the service club has provided this service on Cogeco Cable TV culminating in a live and lively Sunday afternoon with Rotarian hosts and video clips with member along with club project previews.

But the past few years it’s been a hybrid of both TV and online as most of the bids have come in online.

Which means this year it’s online only.

As well there is no paper flying going out in the mail.

That means logging in and seeing what’s for sale.

Here are just handful of items to entice you to sign up, browse and bid.

And as usual what a delightful array of goods and services on display right at your fingertips.

Then there’s the added value of getting a bargain.

Items listed show the retail value and the one quarter starting bid.

So if you’re looking for a Party Pack from Mr. Sub, a maintenance plan for your furnace and AC from Gravenhurst Plumbing, a night’s stay at the Howard Johnson or dozens of gift certificates for all manner of goods and services in town this is the first place to look.

Sign up, browse, bid and get informed if your bid is one-upped.

Funds raised go to dozens of Gravenhurst Rotary Club town and international projects like Rotary Wheels for Learning in Cambodia (10 bikes as of last year), their emergency mental health support programs for teens and young adults, dozens of educational bursaries — and of course the new Music on the Barge rock seating next summer.

It’s a fun way to spend the next two weeks — actually 16 days and nights.

Your service club and community will thank you.
