NORTHLANDER RAIL OPEN HOUSE IN GRAVENHURST WEDNESDAY NOON-4 P.M. AT CENTENNIAL CENTRE

GRAVENHURST — Northland’s bid to return passenger rail service to the north in 2016 rolls into Gravenhurst today from noon to 4 p.m.

An open house information centre at the Centennial Centre will update the public on its news that the province has bought three trains to carry residents between Toronto and Cochrane.

Sixteen of those stops will include Washago, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville and South River.

The four-hour drop in will also allow people to comment on any aspect of the proposal.

They had the same drop-in last night in Washago and have had them in Bracebridge and Huntsville.
