HUNTSVILLE CAB OWNER CHARGED WITH HARASSMENT AFTER EMPLOYEES’ COMPLAINTS

HUNTSVILLE A cab owner here has been charged with harassment by a pair of his employees.

The workers accused Shawn Bouillon, who owns Independent Taxi with his husband Reuben Pyette-Bouillon, in a report to police. He was arrested Tuesday Nov. 14.

Police charged Shawn Bouillon with:

  • Criminal Harassment – repeatedly follow – two counts
  • Failure to comply with undertaking – two counts

Bouillon was held for bail and released with a future court date of December 5, 2023.

He and his husband operate the ride share company in Chaffey after winning an Ontario Land Tribunal case a year ago to operate from their rural home.

The ruling went against a Town of Huntsville zoning refusal that said it wasn’t a permitted use.

Bouillon had been in talks with the town to apply for an application that would allow them to operate in a designated rural residential zone even before purchasing the property in 2019.
