SECOND FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT IN A WEEK ON SAME ROAD IN MUSKOKA LAKES TOWNSHIP SATURDAY

PORT CARLING — A second motorcyclist in a week has died on Peninsula Road after another accident late Saturday afternoon.

The 41-year-old rider died a week to the day after a 29-year-old succumbed to injuries on the same road in Muskoka Lakes. Both were late afternoon accidents.

Police are investigating the latest death after the collision near North Drive.

They say that on June 17, shortly before 4 p.m., emergency first responders were called after a motorcycle left the road and collided with a rock cut on Peninsula Road.

Peninsula Road was closed in both directions while the OPP technical collision investigators and reconstructionists completed their investigation.

The accident Saturday claimed the life of an unidentified 41-year-old rider late in the afternoon, June 17, after striking a rock cut on Peninsula Road near North Drive.
