JUNE DRUG INVESTIGATION LEADS TO TWO HUNTSVILLE WOMEN CHARGED WITH TRAFFICKING OFFENCES

GRAVENHURST — A Muskoka drug investigation has led to two women from Huntsville being charged in a police stop in Gravenhurst Thursday in which an estimated $20,000 worth of cocaine was seized by police.

OPP say that this month the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) has been conducting an investigation into drug-trafficking in the district.

Their probe culminated June 22 when, with the assistance of Bracebridge Detachment officers, CSCU made a traffic stop and arrested two people on Hwy. 11.

In addition to the cocaine brass knuckles were found in the vehicle, say police in a release Sunday.

As a result of the investigation, officers charged 30-year-old Kearsten Lumley with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2), Fail to Comply with Release Order CC 145(5)(a) and Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose CC 88.

Lumley was held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 23, 2023.

In addition, police charged 29-year-old Danielle Gill with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking CDSA 5(2).

Gill is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Aug. 1, 2023.

A June drug-trafficking investigation in Muskoka culminated Thursday with two Huntsville women being stopped on Hwy. 11 in Gravenhurst and charged.
