2 MORE BREAK-INS IN DOWNTOWN GRAVENHURST PAST TWO DAYS LATEST IN SMASH AND GRABS

GRAVENHURST — A pair of smash and grabs here yesterday and today may be linked.

Police are investigating after the Currie Brothers music store was hit overnight Wednesday when a hooded thief broke a large front window on Muskoka Road and stole three guitars.

They say the theft occurred about 5:10 a.m.

Now the police are requesting assistance of the public.

Then about the same this morning, at 4:40 a.m., another business in Gravenhurst had the front window damaged and items stolen as a result.

Police haven’t confirmed the incidents are related, but are being investigated as such given the similar circumstances surrounding both.

The break-ins follow a pair of recent ones at the Canadian Tire gas bar, also on the main street.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incidents or may have seen suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact the Bracebridge OPP to assist in these investigations. We are also reminding everyone to ensure that doors and access points are secure and that valuable items are not stored in plain view of the public to avoid becoming potential victims.
