PARRY SOUND-MUSKOKA — Affordable housing is near and dear to Scott Aitchison’s heart.

He talked about it a lot for months during the Conservatives’ leadership race that ended last month.

As former mayor of Huntsville and member of Parliament for Parry Sound-Muskoka he has seen the need first-hand.

Now he will be keeping a closer eye on federal Liberal plans to try and rectify it after being named his party’s “Shadow Minister” for housing.

His new appointment includes “diversity and inclusion.”

Today leader Pierre Poilievre named him to his “shadow cabinet,” along with dozens of other Tory MPs and associate shadow ministers.

Aitchison was previously the party’s labour critic.

Aitchison came last in the party’s leadership race in which Poilievre swept the race.
