HWY. 400 ACCIDENT BACKS UP TRAFFIC ONTO MUSKOKA RD. 38 THROUGH GRAVENHURST

GEORGIAN BAY – Traffic throughout much of west and south Muskoka remains heavy into the afternoon after a an accident on Hwy. 400 south this morning.

Police say that at 8:34 a.m. Tuesday they were called to a single vehicle collision around South Gibson Lake Rd in Georgian Bay Township in which it left the road.

The single occupant was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of the collision, Hwy. 400 southbound remains closed while OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members investigate.

Southbound traffic is currently being detoured on Muskoka Rd 38.

Traffic on Bay Street (Hwy. 169) was backed up Monday morning and into the afternoon after an accident on Hwy. 400 rerouted traffic onto Muskoka Rd. 38 and through Gravenhurst slowing car and truck movement on the main street.
