CPR TRAINING HELPED SAVE BOY, 2, WHO WAS SWIMMING IN STEWART LAKE LAST TUESDAY
MACTIER — A person with CPR training saved the life of a two-year-old boy last week, police just report today.
The toddler was in the water at a Stewart Lake Beach Tuesday in MacTier, when he slipped away from family and entered the water.
And although he was quickly located by a caregiver, he was unresponsive.
The family called for help and police say the quick actions of a nearby good Samaritan who was familiar with CPR successfully revived the child.
And he was transported to a local hospital and soon released in good health.
Police say the near-drowning happened Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m.
OPP and Muskoka EMS responded.
