SECOND SNOWMOBILER INJURED SUNDAY ON ROUTE ‘D’ TRAIL IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST – Police were called out to a second snowmobile accident Sunday.

They say at 4:45 p.m. yesterday, Feb. 13, the OPP got an 911 call to the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trail Route D near Doe Lake Road in Gravenhurst.

A single snow vehicle collision left a 38-year-old Gravenhurst man injured when he was ejected after striking a structure along the trail.

Officers, along with Muskoka EMS and the Gravenhurst Fire Department were able to bring the man to the roadway where he was transported to hospital and later transferred to a Toronto hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident follows one police responded to near Bala just after midnight Sunday in which a man hit a tree and was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto with life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to Doe Lake Sunday afternoon after man hit a structure on the OFSC trail.
