OPP OFFICER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER VEHICLE HIT FROM BEHIND ON HWY. 11 NB
PORT SYDNEY — A police vehicle parked on Hwy. 11 NB yesterday afternoon for an earlier accident investigation was struck and the officer was taken to hospital.
Police say that officers were investigating an accident involving two transports and a cube van that happened near Greer Road about 1 a.m. Wednesday, when a commercial vehicle hit the back of the black police vehicle.
At 1:38 p.m. an OPP cruiser with its lights activated parked at this cordoned off collision scene was struck.
The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.
But the officer inside the cruiser was transported by Muskoka Paramedic Services to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
