LOADED PISTOL, $60,000 IN DRUGS FOUND IN 3 POLICE RAIDS IN BRACEBRIDGE THURSDAY

BRACEBRIDGE — A loaded pistol and drugs worth an estimated $60,000 were seized in three police raids yesterday in which officers arrested two people after a month-long investigation here.

The OPP say that in November their Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began investigating the drug trafficking in Muskoka.

On Thursday, Dec. 16 the CSCU), the Central Region Community Street Crime Unit and Bracebridge detachment officers executed three search warrants in Bracebridge.

They say in a release Friday that as a result of the search warrants, two people were arrested.

And they seized a loaded 9mm Pistol, 104grams of fentanyl, 70grams of cocaine, 50grams of crack cocaine, a prohibited knife, and over $6,000 cash. They estimate the street value of the drugs at $60,000.

As a result of the investigation, the following people have been charged:

Jahshua Talbot, 20, of Innisfil

  • Transport firearm in a careless manner, CC 86(1)
  • Possession of Prohibited device for a Dangerous Purpose, CC 88
  • Carrying a concealed weapon, CC 90
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, CC 91(1)
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, CC 92(1)
  • Possession of Prohibited device and weapon, CC 92(2) x2
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm, CC 94
  • Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm, C 95(a)
  • Possession of Prohibited Firearm/ammunition, CC 95(b)
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking, CC 145(4)(a) x2
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime Over $5,000, CC 354(1)(a)
  • Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x4

Elyse Marr, 41, of Bracebridge, Ontario

  • Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, CDSA 5(2) x3

Talbot was held in custody for a bail hearing on December 17, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

Marr was released on an Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, Ontario on January 25, 2022.
