ONLINE MEDICAL DEVICE NOT ‘AS ADVERTISED,’ NOW BANG-GOOD.COM WON’T TAKE IT BACK OR REFUND $500

GRAVENHURST — Home shopping online has been a life saver for millions around the world who have been stuck inside due to COVID-19.
Consumers who rely on products they can’t buy in stores.
And while many customers are satisfied with many major international brand retailers — which all accept returns or take back items with no questions — not all goods online are “as advertised.”
Shopper Lois Cooper says she found that out the hard way.
She contacted MuskokaTODAY.com District News after she bought a piece of health care equipment that has been hard to find in Canada.
After searching the internet, she located the oxygen concentrator she wanted advertised on a website “all in English” from a company in China.
BangGood.com.
Problem is … she couldn’t read or understand it when the device was shipped to her last month.
“It’s all in Chinese — with no English,” explained Cooper in a consumer complaint to this newspaper.
Including the audio prompts and digital readouts.
“It’s all in Chinese. There’s no English anywhere. Not on the machine, the packaging, the instructions or in the manual.”
And she can’t read or understand Chinese.
BangGood.com told her to “go on Google for the translation.”
BangGood’s website shows the display written all in English.

Cooper said she reached out to BangGood.com and has been corresponding by email with the overseas company almost daily to no avail.
But the company representatives refuse to replace or refund her money.
“It’s almost $500,” said Cooper, of the cost of the medical device.
At one point BangGood told her she had to pay to ship the oxygen concentrator back to China.
She says “it’s not made for the Canadian market.”
And all she wants is English version — or her money back.
Cooper says she’s dealt with the company before with no problem.
But this time they have been completely “uncooperative and unreasonable.”
“They’re not honourable. This is a very dishonourable way of doing business.
“Just take your money, send you the wrong product and that’s too bad.”
Cooper urges other home online consumers to beware when dealing with companies like BangGood.com.

Lois Cooper says she can’t understand or operate her oxygen concentrator because it’s “all in Chinese” and she just wants an English version or her money back.

BangGood is clearly a disreputable supplier. Even worse that this concerns a health care product ordered in good faith.
