TWO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGES IN MUSKOKA LAKES TOWNSHIP WEDNESDAY
MUSKOKA LAKES — Police charged two people here yesterday with impaired driving, after a Corvette hit a utility pole mid-afternoon and a Muskoka Lakes man was stopped in a RIDE check last night.
Provincial police charged a Toronto woman after they say her Corvette hit a telephone pole.
Officers responded to the collision on Peninsula Road just after 3:30 p.m., Wednesday Aug. 18.
Suzanne Redmond, 59, was charged with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(b).
Redmond is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Sept. 28, 2021.
Her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded.
Later at night officers were doing a RIDE check on Medora Street in Port Carling, at 10:30 p.m.
Police say officers suspected the man had alcohol in his system when they stopped his vehicle.
After an investigation they arrested and charged 75-year-old Jack Addis, of Muskoka Lakes Twp., with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(b) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).
Addis is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Oct. 19, 2021.
He, too, had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded.
