PAIR CHARGED WITH TRYING TO SELL GENERATORS FROM CAR IN GRAVENHURST
GRAVENHURST — Two GTA men were in bail court today charged with trafficking in stolen goods after a complaint here late yesterday afternoon about people trying to sell generators from their car.
Provincial police say a suspicious member of the public called them just before 5 p.m., Wednesday Aug. 18, and said two people in the area of George Beard Lane in Gravenhurst were attempting to sell the generators from the back of their vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle travelling on Bethune Drive South in Gravenhurst, conducted a traffic stop and conducted an investigation into the circumstances.
Police charged 29-year-old Adrian Kwiek, of Brampton, with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 CC 355(a), Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5000 CC 355.5(a), Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a) and Fail to Comply with an Appearance Notice for Court CC 145(3).
Also charged was 20-year-old Kewin Sadowski, of Mississauga, with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 CC 355(a), Trafficking in Stolen Goods over $5000 CC 355.5(a), Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a) along with several Highway Traffic Act offenses.
Kwiek and Sadowski were held in custody to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing on August 19, 2021.
