WEEKEND FORECAST CALLED FOR BABY SHOWER & BRIDAL SHOWER FOR SISTERS

GRAVENHURST — Wendy Gliddon knew the weekend forecast was for showers.
And she was ready both days as life begins to return to normal.
Her two daughters were celebrating — with a baby shower Saturday and a bridal shower Sunday.
And luckily for Hilary Rogers, yesterday it was only the clouds that broke as the family celebrated on the west side of town her impending arrival.
Today the party moved to a small tent on the front lawn of mom’s Phillip Street home, where there was a COVID drive-by shower for Hailey Graham’s nuptials next month with town councillor Steven Klinck.
They opted for separate celebrations so as to not take away from one another.
Again this afternoon the avoided the downpour of the previous day.
But just in case … both days they had on hand a blow-up binky the size of which could have been used to float them in the event the clouds opened again — or Hilary’s water broke.
