SEPARATE SEX ASSAULT CHARGES AGAINST HUNTSVILLE, ORILLIA MEN

HUNTSVILLEPolice have arrested two area men who face sex-related charges.

OPP in Huntsville, along with the Muskoka Crime Unit, Child Exploitation Unit and the Digital Forensics Unit say they have charged Brock Gould, 31, of Huntsville, with two sex assault charges:

  • Adult Luring a Person Under 18 years of age by means of Telecommunication
  • Adult Luring a Person Under 16 years of age by means of Telecommunication

Gould was released at a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville at a later date.

Police say a publication ban was issued by the court and no further information will be provided in regards to this investigation.

And in Orillia, the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU) has charged a resident there with Child Pornography offences.

They say that today, Friday June 4, members of the CSEU, OPP Digital Forensics and Orillia OPP detachment executed a search warrant at a residence in Orillia, following an investigation into information received from the National Child Exploitation Crime Center (NCECC).

They say officers seized digital devices for further examination.

Gregory Lasseter, 58, of Orillia was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Possession of Child Pornography
  • Making Child Pornography Available

Lasseter was held for a video bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie.
