MAN ARRESTED AFTER THEFTS FROM AUTOS THIS MORNING IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST — A local man is to appear in bail court tomorrow after being arrested and charged today following multiple thefts from vehicles this morning.

Police say that on Thursday June 3, near Phillip and First streets, they received several complaints from the public.

They say that thanks to the information from witnesses, officers who arrived located the suspect several blocks away.

And have charged 31-year-old Nathan Werney with:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 CC 334(b) X 5,
  • Fail to Comply with Probation CC 733.1(1)
  • And Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a).

Werney is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge for a bail hearing June 4, 2021.
