FIRE RATING ‘MODERATE’ — BUT FIRES STILL LIMITED TO RURAL AREAS

MUSKOKA — A break in the weather has brought the fire danger rating down to “moderate.”

That’s as of Tuesday June 15.

Muskoka fire chiefs say they have lowered the rating from “extreme” total fire ban.

This means small fires are permitted in most rural areas of Muskoka, keeping in mind that there is still no daytime burning allowed.

You must have adequate tools and water to extinguish the fire if the need arises and you must be with your fire at all times.

For more information on the burning regulations check with your fire department.
