MACTIER CYCLIST, 51, DIES IN COLLISION WITH MOTORIST SATURDAY NIGHT

GEORGIAN BAY — A MacTier cyclist has died after collision Saturday night with a motorist in which both were travelling westbound on Twelve Mile Bay Road.

Provincial police say Sunday afternoon that officers responded to the collision in Georgian Bay Township May 29 at 6:25 p.m.

They say it involved a passenger vehicle and a cyclist.

The cyclist, 51-year-old Darren Williams, of Mactier, was transported to hospital at Parry Sound and later transferred to a Toronto hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Twelve Mile Bay Road was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) unit assisted with this ongoing investigation.

Twelve Mile Bay Road, southwest of MacTier, was closed last night for a police investigation after a MacTier man died in a westbound collision with a motorist travelling in the same direction toward Georgian Bay.
