2 DRIVERS FACE DRUG, ALCOHOL IMPAIRED CHARGES

GRAVENHURST — Life in the slow lane has led to an impaired charge against a Scarborough man yesterday.

Provincial police say that on May 27 at 12:30 a.m. an officer doing radar check on Hwy. 11 North near Hewitt Street became concerned about a vehicle travelling well below the speed limit and pulled over the driver.

After an investigation, 23-year-old Rahul Kapoor was charged with Impaired Operation by DRUG CC 320.14(1)(a).

Kapoor is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge June 29, 2021.

On Tuesday, May 25 at 2:15 p.m., police responded to a concern from a member of the public about an impaired driver on Carrick Trail in Gravenhurst.

Officers located the vehicle a short distance away and arrested and charged 50-year-old Trevor McIvor, of Toronto, with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on June 29, 2021.

Drivers charged with impaired driving face an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension and their vehicle is towed and impounded.

Two drivers were charged with impaired operation in separate incidents this week in Gravenhurst.
