GETTING OUT ON COURSE EARLY LEADS TO CART THEFT CHARGES
BRACEBRIDGE — A trio of young golf buddies took advantage of the good weather, but run afoul of the law.
Courses aren’t open, but the eager beavers were caught on the wrong end of the driving range after a pair of golf carts were reported stolen at the South Muskoka Curling and Golf Club course Thursday or Friday.
Police were called to a local golf course for the reported theft March 18 or 19.
Police made an appeal to members of the public for assistance in locating the golf carts, and very shortly after, information was received about their whereabouts.
Officers located them and charged three young people each with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime CC 354(1)(a).
The trio whose identities are protected under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Youth Court in Bracebridge in May.
