BRACEBRIDGE BANK LOCKDOWN AFTER CUSTOMER DISTURBANCE

BRACEBRIDGE — A bank lockdown yesterday afternoon ended after a man was charged with causing a disturbance and making phone threats after being asked to leave.

Police say that on Wednesday March 10 at 4 p.m., they got a 911 call on Muskoka Road 118 West.

A customer was told to leave after employees claim he caused a disturbance.

The man left and the bank later received a phone call in which an employee said he indicated he would return and also proceeded to utter threats.

Police say there were no immediate concerns for public safety and the bank doors remained locked until the man was located and arrested.

Jeremy Lengyel, 40, of Bracebridge, is charged with Causing a Disturbance CC 175(1) (a) and Uttering Threats Cause death or Bodily Harm CC 264.1(1) (a).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge April 13, 2021.
