BRACEBRIDGE BOIL WATER ADVISORY SUNDAY DUE TO WATER OUTAGE

BRACEBRIDGE — Residents on the Muskoka water system in Bracebridge have been issued a boil water order this morning after the district says it is experiencing a problem with the water distribution system, which is affecting water services throughout the town.

They say crews are investigating and more information will be available soon.

The boil water advisory for the water system users in Bracebridge means those who take their water from the municipal system should temporarily not use it for the following uses:

  • Drinking: making juice, infant formula or ice;
  • Cooking: washing uncooked fruits and vegetables;
  • Or, brushing teeth.

Water available at Kirby’s Beach:

As an alternative, residents should temporarily get their water from a source that is safe (Kirby’s Beach Water Treatment Plant at 1601 Beaumont Dr. in Bracebridge).

Or they suggest you buy bottled water in the short-term.

Also, if you are accessing the water treatment plant, please ensure you follow COVID-19 safety protocols and maintain social distancing and wear a face-covering where necessary.

Crews are isolating the issue that is causing this Town-wide outage and will provide updates when more information is available.
We thank our community for your patience.
