‘NOVICE’ DRIVER IN CRASH IMPAIRED BY DRUGS, ALCOHOL, CHARGE POLICE

HUNTSVILLE — A 32-year-old “novice” driver who’s not allowed to drink and drive has been charged with impaired driving by drugs and alcohol after an accident last Thursday.

Police here today say that on Dec. 17, at 4:20 p.m., the OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 141 in Huntsville.

Officers located the vehicle and with the assistance of witnesses found the driver.

The initial investigation revealed that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to the collision. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Huntsville OPP Detachment, where further breath tests were conducted.

As a result of the investigation, Travis Kerr, of Huntsville, has been charged with:

Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs;

Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus);

And Adult Novice Driver – B.A.C Above Zero.

Kerr is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville, at a later date.
