The health unit said in reply to a query about the Gravenhurst case that the person testing positive was from the town, but that the institutional outbreak was at another location.
In Ontario numbers appeared to explode to 2,275 due to some data reporting changes the past day.
Toronto reported 711 cases, Peel 586, Windsor-Essex 185 and York Region 154.
PROVINCE WON’T PAY FOR SNOWBIRDS’ COVID TESTS
The province has announced COVID-19 testing for outbound international travellers will no longer be funded by the province.
That means area residents will no longer be able to book a test at assessment centres if the reason for the test is travel.
The province recommends travellers consult with the guidelines of their airline and country of destination and if a test is required, seek the test through a private testing facility or travel clinic.
And if you are in need of a COVID test, for non travel reasons, you can still book an appointment at your local assessment centre.
